Effective October 1, 2024, the Revolutionary Government of Zanzibar has mandated that all foreign non-residents arriving by air or sea purchase a US $44 inbound travel insurance policy—covering emergency medical expenses, repatriation, personal accident, and baggage loss—from the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation in partnership with authorised insurers; failure to comply will result in denied entry at immigration checkpoints.
