Airlink has announced the launch of the first-ever non-stop flight service between Cape Town and Zanzibar, marking a major boost for tourism and regional connectivity between South Africa and Tanzania.
The new route is scheduled to commence in October 2026 and will be operated using Airlink’s new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft. The airline said bookings are already open for passengers travelling between Cape Town International Airport and Zanzibar.
According to Airlink, the route aims to strengthen leisure and tourism traffic to Zanzibar, which continues to attract visitors for its beaches, marine attractions, and historic Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
